Choose Your Tribe

Navigating through relationships these days feels trickier than it did when we were kids, right? Maybe it’s because we’ve lost that carefree innocence of childhood, and now we see things more clearly. Or maybe it’s just this whole “new normal” after Covid. Life took a wild turn after that, didn’t it?

We live in a world full of criticism these days, making it really tough to be our true selves and live life on our own terms. It’s so easy to get lost in all that negativity and let it mess with our sense of who we are.

But hey, it doesn’t have to be that way.

There will always be “friends and family” secretly hating on your progress in life and never cheering you on.

There will always be people who thrive on gossip and weirdly enjoy other people’s hurt and misery.

There will always be that one person on social media who never hits ‘like’, but also never unfriends you. Deep down, something in you is missing in them, and yeah, jealousy is a very real thing that makes people nasty.

If you’re sad, they’ll say you’re too sad and need to be happy. If you’re happy, they’ll accuse you of being too happy.

If you work a lot, they’ll say you’re neglecting your family. If you work too little, they’ll accuse you of not working hard enough.

Either way, not everyone is on your side. But guess what? You don’t need everyone in your corner! Let them go! Find your tribe!

Your tribe will change as you change. The “family and friends” you once had will suddenly become acquaintances, leaving room for your real people. And that’s not a bad thing at all – it’s a really, really great thing. Life is about growth, and it allows you to find your true calling and live life to the fullest.

Your tribe will openly love you, cheer you on from the sidelines, and be there for you when you fall – and it’s because of them that you’ll rise again! They’ll be there through the good and bad times, give you the tough love you need when you’re going off the rails, and love you through it all. They won’t gossip about your issues, but will defend you to hell and back. They’ll shut down any gossip they hear and be the reason you thrive once again.

Your tribe will help you grow, and you’ll be the motivation for them to seek growth as well.

Growth is change, and change is hard. But with the right people by your side, change is welcomed, and it’s what will turn your life around for the better.

The power is in your hands. Find your tribe, choose your tribe carefully, and when you find them, never let them go.
